How I See It.............My 2 Cents.

I hear people every day, whining and crying about the price they have to pay to enjoy their cars. Most of the people that I know are into "Muscle Cars", yet I hear others complaining about the same thing, "The Price Of Gas".
Well Here's What I Think......

Yes the price that we are paying for gas is outrageous, infact, it is at an all time high in the US. Oil has topped $100 a barrel, which trickles down to the consumer. We are currently paying anywhere from $3.00 to $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

STOP WHINING!!!!!!!!!!

I am no economic genius, but haven't you been paying attention?
All my life, oil based products, not just gasoline, has been on a constant and steady uphill climb. Price and demand. And personally, I don't see it EVER going down, price or demand. So, what is it I'm trying to say here?

I chose to own a Muscle Car, I made the decision early on, that I wanted to have a hobby that was going to cost me money every time I wanted to participate.
As the old saying goes....."You Got To Pay To Play The Game"

I have talked to people that have put "MEGA BUCKS" into their cars, and now are refusing to take their car to a car show or cruise because "The Price Of Gas Is Too High".
BULL!!!!!!! I say, You Got To Pay To Play The Game.
You have to go to the shows and cruises, they are not going to come to you.

What good is that Classic Muscle Car, or any customized or modified car gonna be sitting in the garage? You were willing to spend all that money for a car, but now you're not willing to send a lil more to cruise, or show it off. Then I say, sell it! Cut your losses and get rid of it.
You Got To Pay To Play The Game.
If you think it's too expensive to do it today, surprize,
it isn't gonna be any cheaper to do it tomorrow.

Damn straight i know what u mean fo sure .Although i dont take my car to car shows or anything i do drive a v8.Pll always ask me why i dont just get me a better gas milege car .Well the truth is i love v8's and my ride .I'd rather pay more for gas and drive something i love then something i gate and pay less for gas .

I have noticed allot of my friends backing out of meet'sa nd stuff in some car clubs i belong to .They tell me cause they got other plans and shit but i always know it's cause of the gas prices .Yes they need to go down but they wont so live with it and enjoy ur cars .

Scott, you're right on the money, no pun intended ha ha!!! We have our cars because we love them, nobody is forcing us to keep them. Most of us don't have our cars because they're practical.

honestly...i see people whining, and i look at things kind of like you! if you want to go somewhere, if you want to enjoy your ride, pay the price and suck it up! I see on different forums people dont want to travel to shows and what not due to gas prices! yeah, it stinks paying that much, but if you truly love what you do, youll set back a little more money out of your paycheck, and do what you do! Very well said blog! i like reading things like this!

I agree Scott...I didn't build my car to look at it and racing fuel can be a ridicules price but that's all part of the 'game' and I could drive my car much more conservative than I do but what fun would there be in that? I might as well drive something else then! So I'm just happy I can drive it and would give my lunch money yo do it!

I remember selling my 1970 Charger because I couldn't afford the gas. IT was a gas hog and damn gas was all the way up to $1.01 per gallon. I'd love to have my charger back and the $1 per gallon gas. But I hear what you are saying. I'm now getting 14 mpg with the Chevy and 30mpg in the Mazda. I still drive the hell out of all of my cars. You gotta pay to play. I've skipped meals all week long to have money to enter my car/truck into a show.
