About Me
I'm 41 years old and I'm married to a beautiful and smart red-head with legs that are a mile long! I have a 20 year old daughter. I love going camping and fishing. My biggest hobby is of course working on cars, going to car shows, and cruising.
General Vehicle Comments
I bought my 1974 Chevy Nova hatchback Spirit of America edition in Sept. of 2007. I'm the third owner. The car has been in Tucson, AZ. it's whole life, virtually rust-free. I have a thick folder with tons of paperwork on it. It is a rare Nova, they only made 14,463 of the SOA. My buddy who has the green Nova 468ratt is going to help me put this car back to the original factory car. This is my second Nova, my first one was in high school and it was a 1973 Nova hatchback.
Accessories & Modifications
The numbers matching motor was bored out to 357cubic inches. Put in a mild rv cam, three-angle valve job with new springs, rebuilt the original two-barrel Rochester. Rebuilt the 350 turbo-hydromatic tranny and put in a mild street shift kit.
Future Plans
Put the original numbers matching 350 engine back in. Put the vinyl top back on. New paint job. Then add the SOA stripes and decals....... (It's been done, spring of 09. The restore is finished) Now it's time to enjoy a new car.

Missed ya at the olde mill this morning. After breakfast I went to go get gas and the rat rod wouldn't idle. It kept stalling out. Double footed it home and played with the carb. Its a little better now. Looks lije I need to rebuild that old Holley.

Hey Gordon. Been busy designing and building a custom center console for the panel. Been ordering a bunch of stuff off ebay for it. Was going to try building a one of a kind gauge pod but was harder then I thought it would be so just bought a 4 gauge pod that fits perfect for a 68 Camaro center console and will mold that on the top of mine.Kind of at a stand still until all the stuff comes in. Been going back in forth with a guy who claims to want the Probe bad for $2,400 but he never comes to get it. Getting frustrating cause that needs to go before I could get nice rims and tires for the panel. Glad to hear your summer has been awesome. Later, Trav

I did a parade too and the car was a big hit with the seniors and kids alike. I did a bulletin with pics but it got buried fast today. It sure sucked riding the clutch and probably took a year off it's life.

Thanks. I think the patriotic theme and display plus having the engine bay well detailed was the difference that put it on top today.I'm stoked, was my first "real" 1st. always got 2nds or top 50 but could never get that 1st. Woo hoo now. LOL

Its the middle of the night for me. LOL

I'm trying to stay up as long as I can today since I'm switching from my night shift to a day shift in one day.

Then I plan on sleeping all night, out of pure exhaustion.

Yeah those are the rims given to me for the audio install payment. I know I can get a cheap ass set of coil overs for now off Ebay, not sure what new shocks cost to match, might make it so it's not so cheap anymore. I'll run these tires until I need new and get more sidewall, these are around an inch shorter in height then my 16s were anyway. I think sometimes people forget I am still unemployed. Baby steps the car is getting better.

My pleasure, sir! Thanks for helping me diagnose that leak. I dropped the car off at Galpin on my way back home. My warranty has just under 2k miles left, just as I'd thought. Once I get it back, I'm going to take off intake pieces and unbolt whatever I can that is close to the turbo just to make sure I exit my warranty in (mechanically) mint condition.

Thanks. I thought I did a hotrodder mag but they must have snuck that one in with the other images. Looks ok though and was easy to play with. Just right click and save it off your page and I'll delete it from my imageshack. I'm out of pic space there evidently so every bulletin I do have to erase the previous ones pics.
