About Me
I was born and raised in the Baltimore suburbs of Maryland. I have been married to my husband, my best friend, my favorite person in the world for 29 years. We have three adult children--two sons and one daughter. Our eldest son and our daughter are into the car scene as well and own a `67 Mustang and `69 Chevelle respectively. I have always loved cars and imagine I always will. My first influence was my mom with her `67 Impala. I loved it and people always wanted to race her off red lights and she would play around with them a little--the fever was born at that time, I guess. I am a gearhead chick for sure. Although my husband does most of the work on my baby, I help out too--I'm not afraid to get a little grease on my hands and I like to know what is going on with my car. I don't think you should own one of these cars and know nothing about them--seems silly to me. Besides cars, I love the outdoors just walking (3-5 miles a day), playing frisbee or aerobie, lazing in the hammock with a good book or star gazing at night. I grow flowers, and I am working on a cottage garden--they are my favorite kind of garden...controlled chaos. I'm crazy about the arts in all forms and I especially love music and dance. Most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends just living, talking and laughing.
When does anyone ever use the ..72 instead of a ..70 for this kind of stuff?! I loved it--but I'm a girl gearhead!

I LOVE THE DOORS--they are by far my favorite band. I believe Jim Morrison had the best voice in Rock and that includes up to today. I've listened to a lot of music and a lot of voices. I have heard everything of The Doors ever released and I'm pretty sure he had the best overall voice in rock. Still. I love the richness in his voice as he got a little older and abused it with smoking and drinking, I'm sure.

General Vehicle Comments I always wanted blue Chevelle with a 454 and never in my wildest dream did I think I would own one, but one day nine years ago, my son told me someone was on the phone for me. He had called about the car without my knowing. My husband, Dennis said we should go out and look at it, so we did. He told me that it was mine if I wanted it. The rest as they say, is history! I am the fourth owner and the original owner was a woman too, so the car has come full circle. She was originally a 350 car with a bench seat and column shifter. The previous owner decided to make her an SS clone sporting a 454 under the hood, swapped out the bench seat for buckets, put a horseshoe shifter on the floor--and a star was born, lol. So no, she is not an original SS, but a clone and I intend to keep her that way. It is the way I bought it and I love her. This is my dream car. How many average people can say they actually drive their dream car every day? I guess I'm fortunate that I love a car that someone of average or humble means can afford. She is a work in progress and while she has had a lot of upgrades, she is still in need of a LOT of body work. I'm working on it--time and money as they say. Both seem to be at a premium these days! |
