About Me Some say I'm too much to handle, some say I make them smile. I'm witty and come off as a bit conceited, though I'm not really. I'm just one of the boys and a girly girl. I have horses and run the family ranch with my dad. I wear heels all week at work and whatever I please to class, when I have it. I'm a world traveler, and not just in my mind. I have expensive tastes but don't like to spend. I have something beyond a passion for cars, muscle, sport, vintage, and trucks.

General Vehicle Comments This little boy is 'Shorty' I learned to drive in him when I was 8 at my grandparents' ranch. My Dad and Grandma bought him brand new right off the showroom floor in Heavener, OK in 1986.
My grandma used him for her mail route for a couple years then they just used him to haul oil barrels and let us kids drive around.
When I was 15, my grandfather was already gone and my grandmother had alzheimer's so I asked my aunt's and uncles if I could have the truck, they all agreed. So I hauled the truck from SE OK to my house in Broken Arrow and spent the next few months working on him. At that time we put a new fuel pump on, fixed the gear indicator and the speedometer. Never did get the gas gauge to work again. Also put a new headliner and got the seat reupholstered. Added the door hendles you see in the pics and put the leather on the door panels.
In 2005 the truck seized up. When I went to have the engine rebuilt they said they've never had an engine come in that seized up and couldn't find a reason as to why it was. On June 21st, 2007. I fired him up once again. It's been a lot of learning and we have more to go but Shorty lives again!! |

Accessories & Modifications Not many mods. This truck is so bone stock that it would be a shame to tear it apart and modify it. I've replaced the front bumper and a fender and have a tailgate off another of my trucks for it. Still need to fix some dents and paint it. I'm going to keep it the same doeskin color with burgundy interior. I've had alot of coments on how clean the truck is so far. |

Vehicle Showcase Ever seen a 1986 that still looks like it did in 1986, 22 years later? |

Future Plans Plan on making the body perfectly smooth again, new paint, possibly replacing the door panels. There's a single crack in the dash so may get a new one of those too.
In the ice storm back in December he got hit pretty hard. Alreayd replaced all glass, complete with antenae in the windshield. It also pulverized the hood and put a dent in the top of the cab.
3/20 - I got a new hood for him! |
