Future Plans
General motors still sells more than 25% of the new vehicles sold in America.

GM Has 8 out of 10 of the quality manufacturing plants in North America, This means that GM quality is better now than all of the imports. Toyota's highest rated plant is 15th.

GM is the leader in fuel economy With 18 vehicles that get over 30 miles per gallon highway. That's more than Toyota, Nissan, and Hyundai combined.

GM is the leader in alternative fuels. Today GM has 1.5 million vehicles already on the road equipped to use E85 ethanol. Plus, GM is the leader in hydrogen fuel research, which will be the future of alternative power sources, rather than hybrids.

GM employs and supports more than 1,100,000 people and their families in the US. If you use the same formula Toyota uses to say they employ 350,000 people, then GM would employ over 11,350,000 people.

The imports would lead you to believe they make cars in the US. NOT TRUE! They assemble cars from parts made mostly in Japan, Korea and other foreign countries. There is a big difference in assembling vehicles and making vehicles. Conversly, 85% of all GM parts used to build cars and trucks come from the US. Only a small percentage of parts used to assemble import cars come from the United States. Examples: Lexus 3%, US content, KIA 4%, BMW 11% and Hyundai only 1%.

For every one point of market share the imports gain, 18,000 US jobs are lost. Maybe you know an American who has lost his or her job when a GM or Ford plant closed.

Who has the most dependable vehicles? According to JD Power and Associates, GM does, with eight vehicles winning in their segments. Thats more than any other manufacturer, including the imports.

What manufacturers are imports? Everyone except GM, Ford and the Chrysler part of Diamler-Chrysler.

What happens to the billions of dollars the imports make in the United States? The money goes back to Japan, Korea, Germany, and other countries to pay for their health care, education, parks and playgrounds, and other things their people use.

The United States currently has a $50 billion trade deficit each year in automobile and parts trade with Japan and Korea alone. This is slowly but surely eroding the wealth out of America and giving it to Japan, Korea, and other countries. Because of this, our children and grandchildren will have a lower quality of life than we enjoy today.

Who has the safest new vehicles on the road? GM does by far, with more safety devices (including OnStar) on more vehicles than any other company.

Are GM and Ford going out of business? No - at least every American should pray they arent, because it would create a financial turmoil around the world, especially here in America.

Why is keeping GM and Ford strong so important? Because manufacturing is the basis of any modern, influential nation. American has already lost its electronics industry, textile industry, furniture industry, most of its steel industry, and many others. Automobile and auto parts manufacturing is the last major industry left. Plus during a national crisis like World War II, GM's and Ford's manufacturing plants were converted to supply our military with equipment to win the war.

Why should you buy new American cars, particulary GM, versus the imports?

1. GM's Quality is as good as or better than the imports.

2. GM's gas mileage is better.

3. GM's dependability is better.

4. You will help lower our trade deficit.

5. You will help keep more jobs in America.

6. Profits from new American vehicles will help provide more services for American Citizens and help keep America strong.

7. BECAUSE IT MATTERS!

It was covered by his leg pad and he DID know where it was. The ref just forgot how to do his job.

"Here come the tears..." If you want to boast about your team, fine, but dont make personal insults towards me. Id expect that from the kids on the site, but not you.

On another note: Gonna have to see if I can get the Camaro financed again, just to get the tranny fixed.

I searched all of your pics and all of the wizards pics and can't find a good one of hood hinges. I'm giving up on finding a replacement set for mine and just going to have the hood tilt forward instead. Kind of cheating but in the end will be custom and probably just as much work. Just have to gigure out how to hinge it and keep it open for shows or working on it.

I hear ya on the seats. The orange looks so damn good in there but was so dirty already and not even in yet. I'm sure new blue jeans would rub blue on them and stuff. Just easier since I am getting a new set to go mainly black with orange accents instead. Do wish it was a vinyl or leather though.

actually, i was impressed with lions. yeh, he may have got his welcome to the NFL with the 3 ints but you know what, he went against Saints... one of the good teams and scored 27pts and were actually in the game the majority of the time. Lions did alot better than last year. I see them winning a few this year.

When I think of all the labor costs I saved myself tackling things on the Probe and now the truck I grin.Helps having a lot of friends and neighbors where at least one person knows the answer to my questions so I can do it myself. Now that I sprayed that center console with a "real" spraygun I'm hooked. Should have had one years ago,LOL!

I agree about the gauges. Just couldn't see spending $150 for a 5" tach with shift light. A lil over kill. I'll have to look online for the autometer ultralite series tach that matches that might be a lil smaller or without the shift light for a lil cheaper anyway.

I never use the tablesaw or I would cover it. I paid like $100 for it at Menards and the blade and housing are as tight as it can be and it moves side to side alot so can't get a good cut. Expensive saw horse and paint stand.
Neighbor mowed his lawn while I was painting and stirred up all the gnats and bugs so have about 10 of them to wet sand out of my paint and had a run in it to try to get out. I'm hoping I don't have to spray it all again cause it came out looking so good. It looks so glossy and hard.
