About Me

Well my names Joe, I live in rural Iowa outside of Waterloo in a small town called Finchford, belive me I mean small, all there is in finchford is a church, repair shop and about 20 houses. I live about a mile out of finchford on a gravel road so I spend a lot of time at carwashes.

For hobbys I'm usually playing some racing game or outside workin w my car or tearing up the trails out behind my house on my quad, do a lot of muddin with it hence the name oldschoolmudder, I came up with that when I had my old atv, a 89 warrior, that thing sucked in mud an I always ended up pusing it an that got old.

Really into cars, even though I'm not a master mechanic I try to do the mods myself, I'm currently enrolled in a tech school in waterloo called Hawkeye Community College for Collision Repair and Refinishing, its a two year program an I just started this year (08) I'm basically living at home for now since I haven't been able to get a job that I can work w class so I've been trying to get a good job that I can still go to class full time and have a lil mod money as well.

General Vehicle Comments

Well still planning out stuff for it but I am slowly getting little things done here and there, I'd like to lift it but I don't have the money for a lift. I bought it in June 2009, paid 2,600 for it and many people have told me I got ripped off, I feel it was a good deal and I have wanted a wrangler since I was 8. The love really started when I was 8, I was really into dinosaurs and trucks, well my family got the movie jurassic park and I saw some wranglers in it and fell in love with them. So far I've gone through a couple theme ideas, first one was just a show jeep, but I do off road it so that wouldn't work, second I thought about a jurassic park theme, angelfactory came up with that idea. But I think I will do it like a vintage WWII Willys jeep. At least the interior will be that way.

Sounds like a decent trade. I have been building a custom center console for the 57. Just about ready for paint now. wet01 is coming over to mess around tonight so maybe I'll get him sanding on something, lol!

If you already have it in paint that just needs flames a day, If I have to sand it and paint it a base coat then flames 2 days. Those are dry weather days.

I'm going to spray it all gloss black and hopefully I like it. Alredy ground down and primed the inner fenders so I could get those in paint asap. I'll do em black then add the true fire over em. Should look hot. Think I'll just do the underside of the hood gloss black and add that mirror material so people can see the engine and paint details at shows when walking by.Think that would be slick?

Been doing pretty good actually, got a lot of car shows this season so I'm always busy and never on myself anymore....lol. Got a few new things done to the car that I need to take pics of and post up but other than that just doing my thing....lol

I have been busy every day sun up to sun down on the panel. Got the motor done and running strong and the headers put on today. Just need the rest of the exhaust. Going to get that tomorrow probably. Tires are too bad to take out of our one horse town yet . I think all I can do is put it on blocks and bring the rims and tires with me and tell them I want the same size in a torque thrust2 with an inch bigger rims and inch less tire sidewall. That should give them a good idea of backspacing and all that I need. So where have you been?

well hard times and no job is forcing me to sel the rx8 ..however i have my eye on my friends 96 vw GTI vr6 ...its has about 170 hp and torque and i think will make an excellent project car !...it has some small rust spots but its something i can do myself....i may also get a turbo for the lancer if i can sell the rx8 for enough dough !! ...your jeep project sounds like allot of fun !! - frank

Nicely setup Jeep. Looks good. Glad your mods worked out. I've been to a couple of shows N done well. Searchin for a new Hyd ram for my hood. Wrecked it last year @ Woodward DC. Gotta have it fixed for the DC Aug 15th. No time or $$ for the GTO. Really wanted that back on the road for Woodward too. Kickin ass with all 3 of my current Vball teams. In 1st place in all. Good to hear from ya. Hope Mom N Dad R doing well too.

Didn't go to car craft. Had a model shoot with the Probe this morning and then went to a car show in Foreston. Was pretty lame so left after an hour and a half or so. I'll have pics up soon in car show and the last model pics album.
Still waiting on the Nova. Told him I would be there to pick it up mid day Monday so he better have it ready to go. Getting pissed off waiting this long. It is just as bad as when my Cuda was getting the engine rebuilt for 3 months.You know all about that frustration.

It's a 78. I don't really like past 75 but couldn't afford one of those that wasn't just a roller. After I posted ideas for the Jurrasic thing really got me wanting to do one, LOL! A lot of the Jeeps I looked at had new fiberglass tubs on them, maybe you can price those and not worry about rust again.

Yeah, this weekend in St. Paul. You'll have to check out all the info on www.autoswalk.com. They have the show flyer with all the info on there. It's been awhile since I actually looked at the posting. I loved the Jurassic Park theme idea and looked at Jeeps on Craigs but they are all either rusty, too jacked up and or too expensive. No happy middle ground. Couldn't find anything else I liked either so went and checked on the Nova I posted about a few months ago and they still havd it so going to go pick that up as soon as I get the phone call they are done with some minor repairs on it.

I go it on some pilot supply website but heard they are on ebay too. Probably cheaper there but was afraid to look, LOL! Was only like $14 to my door and really looks cool with the theme of the car I think.

Some guy asked me to do a install for him but he had to get a new headunit still and had 6 of my cards on the car at the show a couple weekends ago where I took 1st and only had 3 left at the end of the day. Hopefully someone calls or emails soon. I've been pretty busy lately to advertise enough but going to get back on the bandwagon to drum up some business. Think I'll do up some probe fitting stuff and throw it on ebay as long as I have one handy for fitment ;)

Had such an active week that the past couple of days have been boring as hell. I hear ya on the job thing. I wish my 16" rims would sell so I can add something new to the car. Can't afford anything big on unemployment. Just barely getting by. Thinking about airbrushing all the red stuff inside the car in flames since I got the hang of that and get them looking pretty good. I don't care if it ends up being over the top. Fits my personality the showier it is, LOL

I know bee's scare the crap outta me!!!! Even dead bee's freak me out!! We r just staying home like we always do. Our house is usually the gathering place for everyone. We cook lots of food, drink way to much and just have a good time. Its pretty fun. What r your plans?

Ya I was hoping you would get into the top 3 also. There is still some time so we will have to see. Muddin huh? Sounds like fun. Haven't done that in a while. I guess rain would help for that. It hasn't rained in forever here. The family is doing ok. Jsin walked around the yard spraying bee hives. We got one bigger than a basketball.... scary as hell!!! Then he found like 3 more. I think I will stay inside for a while.. lol. Have a great 4th!!!

I got bored and just figured out that every autologger from MN and Iowa could meet up on a giant bridge in La Crosse, WI. Problem is, the closest person is 3 hours away and the farthest person is 5 hours away. So it wouldn't be a short trip for anyone but it's a town right on the Mississippi so there would be some kick-ass photo opportunities. I'm gonna keep an eye out for shows there and maybe we can all meet up sometime this summer.

I don't know man, I seem to have fell out of favor around here since I said I didn't want to join that Diverzional car club. I wouldn't mind but I'm all alone around here so no point it it I guess. I have been driving around all day scouting pic places and trying to find some new models. Gave out my card for a system install and the dudes sister was hot. He said she would model for me and she said hell no but I'll offer him a discount if he can talk her into it. LOL! How was back to the 50s?
