it was my first car that my dad and i bought to work on together in like 1998...we got it running but never got it to pass the smog test while we lived out there. so then i moved back to iowa from las vegas (01)where there are no smog tests...so i got to drive it for about 3 months and once winter hit the original straight 6 it wasnt doing so good. so i had to sell it cause i had to get something more reliable...that was in 01-02.


this is nov of 08 and i just found that old 74 nova i was talking about....!!!! yea i know. 6-7 years later and i over heard a guy talking to someone i knew in a break room at their work. (i stock vending machines) asked my buddie if the guys nova was for sale or a project he wants to sell...cause ive always wanted another one...he tells me the guy just put a new engine and tranny in it and hes done it up abit ...had it for a few years. he says hold on he has pics in his locker.... he shows me a 74 nova,brown with a black interior..mine was brown with a white interior. i said wow,thats just how mine used to look minus the updates.i said ask him if it had a nellis airforce base sticker on the front bumper...so the next day we saw the guy in the break room and asked if it had such a sticker when he bought it..he had a puzzled look and said YES IT DID. come to find out he bought it 6 years ago from the guy we sold it to for $300 less than we sold it for. we sold it for $1800 and he bought it for $1500. he put in a posi rear end new 350 turbo trans and engine. kept all the seat cause they were in great shape just got black skins from a guy in SC(original also) found 2 seperate dash's that he didnt find met his standards so he put in a $1,000 digital dash! i havent seen it in person yet or even more pics..just one. i will put some up once he gives me some.. he said hed pull it out of storage and take some pics and show me what hes done. couldnt believe it...what are the odds??

anyways im here to see others cars and show you what im messing around with. :)

Yeah air tools are nice. My dad an I finally have a new compressor so I can actually use my tools now lol! fixed the topaz yesterday an today, got the rust out patched in. But the jeeps in the shop, needs a new rear brake line unfortinatly. So thats tied up so I might have to drive my atv to class...Naw I'm just kiddin. Thinkin about keepin the 240 and puttin a small block V8 in it and selling the SR20 and trans.

Hey buddy whats happening? You been up to much? Looks like you've gotten the nova torn down a lot since I last checked on it. I like what you're doing with it. All I got done in the past week is cleanin up my rims, mounting a coolent catch can and finding more rust under an inch of bodyfiller in my body tub sides, and some tin stuffed in the holes.

So you still doing car shows with the eclipse?

You want a goal date for your nova completion to do an AZ car show?

1st weekend in May 2010. Its the Arizona Route 66 fun run with around 800 cars doing the mobile 3 day car show. www.azrt66.com

Put a heater in it. You may not always be so lucky to always drive in perfect weather. You may have taken a date to a movie on a nice clear night. But when you come out the weather dropped and now your window is frosted. That heater/defroster sure would be handy about then.

Same thing with a rain storm. I've driven home from work in the rat rod when there was less than a 10% chance of rain and its downpouring on the way home. Windows fog up and I don't have a heater. Kind of sucks doing the Ace Ventura with the window down in an unexpected storm.

Should look pretty cool. I am leaning towards a metallic green or maybe metalic blue with the jeep, that or white with a large graphic across the hood.

Nice, yeah I don't think I will keep the 240 any more, had too many problems, got a guy interested in the car but I think it might possibly be a scammer, I said cash only so idk. I need to get working on the jeeps patch panels lol. So what color are you going to paint the nova?

Heck I have some off my old truck, tossed em in the shed, I can try and find them if you want? Kinda greasy but if I find em I can clean em up for ya, just paint em black while I'm at it, that way you just have to toss em on. I can send em easy in the mail too, toss em in a envelope and bam lol! Gotta find them first though, my dads shed is a mess. You want em?

So what all have you been doing with the nova now? Been a while since I talked with you last. Picked up some parts at a swap meet a week or two ago. Looking forward to getting the car back. Yep thats right its still in the shop lol. But it MIGHT be done this weekend, but I doubt it. How you been?

Hows the nova doing other then the brakes? Got my clear corners in the 240 but I forgot my camera, working on the a piller again, used fiberglass this time though, looks much better, still needs filler over the fiberglass tho.

That is a really good looking NOVA.

Its an entirely different feeling driving a muscle car than driving an import. I have both and like each one for what they are. I get a lot more public appretiation in the old truck over my Mazda. All generations appretiate an old muscle car but its usually younger generations that like import tuners.

Very nice! Looks great, Man I need to get an old car now, was watchin horsepower TV and they had coker tire on there, always liked the white walls, so I think I am going to have to buy some white walls and mount em on some old steelies with polished moon centers and then build a truck or car around it lol. So does the nova need much work other then the heater core?
