Aside from my current ride, I'm building a fox-bodied Mustang racecar back home in Texas and anything involving cars or racing I'm there in a heartbeat. I'm content spending the afternoon getting dirty working on my car or truck and think a little grease on my face adds character. I also have another sleeper project as well to add to my collection of projects and parts cars. I've got an '84 LTD (the shorter one on the fox chassis for those who are thinkng: wtf that big boat?). Been an ongoing project since I first bought the car the day I turned 16.... full mustang gt suspension, 8.8 limited slip rearend, mustang turbine wheels..... soon to have a 5.0/5-speed shoved in it.

Bought this car off a 17 year old kid and still finding and fixing what he abused. Replaced the motor after he hydrolocked it this past summer and my dad and I spent 2 weeks thrashing at the shop to get it running after working 10-12 hour days. Bought a wrecked '88 GT conv from a junkyard and salvaged a 49k mile motor out of it. Pulled both motors out and tore them down tot he blocks to pick and choose the best parts from each then put one good engine all back together again with all new good gaskets, new clutch, pressure plate, stc... all that good stuff. After sitting for at least 4 years that I know of, the motor from the wrecked car cranked and ran after about 15 sec (with fingers crossed). Had a few issues with a couple freeze plugs going out after driving the car for a day but less than a week after getting it running, it made a 1200 mile trip to Arizona from Texas and ran great!

I'm still finding all the poor abused things from that kid and slowly fixing them on my poor college student budget so it's a work in progress.

Nothing much past stock at the moment, I've only had this particular mustang since the beginning of August 2007 and I've spent most of this time fixing/replacing abused parts that the kid broke or completely abused.

-Replaced hydrolocked stock motor with stock motor from a wrecked '88 conv. (see pictures) Basically tore down both motors after pulling them out of the cars and cleaned things up, picked and chose the best parts from both, and built one GOOD motor with only 49k original miles on most of the parts.

-New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing (all stock replacements).

-Welded up a horribly cracked floor pan under the driver's seat.

-Removed (cringe) stupid screw-in spring spacers from the rear springs after the previous owner attempted to half ass fix a weak rear spring with 3 of them in it and 2 in the other side spring. *Swapped out the bad springs with a pair off the wrecked '88 conv. and got a little lowering action out of them since they're slightly shorter and stiffer. Looks much better now!*

-Replaced headlights with new factory Ford replacements and new super white bulbs so now I can actually see at night.

-There's a lot more things I've taken care of but can't think of right now so I'll update this list as I remember.

Hmm.... I can't stay away from the track! I've worked at PIR, Firebird, and Cali Speedway with NASA for a few years and am fully qualified at any position from race control to corner worker (flagger). Since my car isn't quite trackable yet, I spend my time playing pit crew at the dragstrip for friends and doing my racing photography thing. I love the smell of race gas in the morning (thank you Tony!).
