About Me
I've liked cars since I can remember. My whole life kind of revolves around cars. I grew up around a lot of American cars. My dad owned a 1967 Dodge Charger when I grew up, I always loved to ride in it. I used to play Gran Turismo and learn about all the different cars and statistics when I was younger.
Then when I was 15 I started looking for a car of my own, but instead of buying a Ford or any other American car, I bought a 1998 Acura Integra GS.
Photobucket
I really liked that car, but I ended up selling it about a year ago and kind of regret it. Then, I bought a really crappy 1993 Eagle Talon DS as a project car, which I spent the whole summer fixing up. I had to take out the sunroof, grind off about 2 inches of old cracked up bondo, and fix it's warped wavy roof by using a dent puller and bondoing and sanding the whole roof until it was perfect. I also had to weld up the frame since it had been in an accident and the previous owners decided to fix that with a sawzall too. I painted a Cuda green/ black 2 -tone paint job on it after I repaired everything.
Photobucket
After the couple hundred hours of perfecting my Eagle Talon, I promised never to sell it. What did I do a couple weeks later, I sold it and bought my current 1995 Honda Del Sol Si. Those hundreds of hours spent on my Talon paid off though when I started fixing up my Del Sol, because now you can't even tell where any of my previous rust holes were.
I've put a lot of hard work into my cars, and I don't quit until it's done right. I love my Del Sol, and don't plan on selling it any time soon. I plan on going to college for Automotive Engineering.
General Vehicle Comments
I got my Honda Del Sol in October 2008, and I repaired several rust holes in it, and painted it in December 2008. I painted the door jambs in March 2009. I wet sanded and buffed the clear coat. I'm working on my interior now.

My Progress
This is when I first got it in Fall 2008.
Photobucket

I welded in all the areas that were rusted out first, this pic only shows one of them.
Photobucket

I filled in all the areas with fiberglass and bondo. This pic is of where I shaved the rear trunk key hole.
Photobucket

I painted the top half of the car gloss black first.
Photobucket

Then, I taped off the top half and painted the bottom half metallic orange.
Photobucket

I clear coated the whole thing and took the tape off, and this is what it looked like right after I finished.
Photobucket

On the right is after I wet sanded the clear coat, and on the left is after I buffed and polished the clear coat.
Photobucket

I painted the interior pieces, mostly the vents and covers.
Photobucket

I installed new crystal titanium headlights and fog lights.
Photobucket

Check back in later, I will try keeping you updated on my progress.

Hi Travis, Sorry for the confusion. The show will be from 6pm to 10pm. Some people will be showing up at 4 so they can get unloaded and parked ect.If you can pre-register it would help on this end because that way we can have your information ahead of time and it will speed up the parking process ect., but no, it is not necessary to pre-register to be eligible for a trophy. We changed our mind on that one!! And yes Fri the 10th of July is the correct date. We are planning on handing out trophies at 8:45 so we can have that part wrapped up by 9. At nine a live band is scheduled to play and from 6-9 a DJ is scheduled to play. Any other ?s, feel free to ask. Thanks Travis

I got bored and just figured out that every autologger from MN and Iowa could meet up on a giant bridge in La Crosse, WI. Problem is, the closest person is 3 hours away and the farthest person is 5 hours away. So it wouldn't be a short trip for anyone but it's a town right on the Mississippi so there would be some kick-ass photo opportunities. I'm gonna keep an eye out for shows there and maybe we can all meet up sometime this summer.

i couldn't say for sure since i haven't taken my front side off but i bet those storage compartment area were the worst. i had like a dust blanket.

what color were you thinkin? doin more orange or just reblacking them?

the cupholders!? where will your drink go man!

haha i just took out the storage compartments theres nothing back there but some wires for the fuel level guage..and the gas line but its thick.

id say draw it up. like draw up the one you have now and then trace it and erase and fill in with what you want ya know?

thats rough. 2 is really nice for just driving but 4 is alotta fun. really stiff though.

sadly no. kids gotta quit all the time and im the restaraunt biotch so i get to do everything they were supposed so i get to work all day...all the time.

if i get enough warning...even though i had plenty on this one i forgot ill be at the next one.

like lay down some foam and fiberglass over it?

i have no intentions of reusing my stock one. since the point of mine is to take out all the things i don't like.
why do you wanna switch back and forth?

the best there is my friend. you have the little adjuster on top of your strut on all four?

i have the same AGX. ride 2 normally 4 when its fun time.

lucky. actually..power doors is a lil rediculous cuz you can easily reach. mine doesnt even have that space. and where your side view mirror adjuster is i have like a money clip...no freakin idea why.

the grey in yours looks really light too. but ask trav how to dye it.

hmmm ya im not sure how it would look. go get some like wash off paint put it on there quick and hit it with a damp rag maybe, just to see whats what.

oh it'll work. if i could id like to fiber glass at least the center cuz i dont have the back little waste of storage box thing. so i want to fibergalss that to cover back up my fuel gauge and so it can run cleanly behind the seats. id like to do the dash too just to get rid of some weight and unnecessary things that are in there. so id say go for it and if you manage to get it done before me save the shell you used and i'll buy it from ya.

another paint spot idea is around the door handle and the window/door locks.

and your interior is nice. i hate adjusting my side mirrors by hand.

but whats that button like thing on your drivers door in front of the handle?

eh wiring isn't so bad after you figure out how to read diagrams.

but engines is only harder cuz of allll the pieces that have to go where they came from and measurements.

Oh, if your going to redo the whole thing and don't want to ruin the stock one lay tinfoil over the whole console and lay the fleece over that. Then when it's hard it will come away clean from the stock one without ruining it. Then just peel the tinfoil off the underside of your new glass console and cut out your shifter and e brake holes. Might even add a cup holder or 2,LOL!

Are you coming to that Elk River car show on the 25th? You should, I promised at least 5 cars and so far it's only me and mike for sure that i know of. if you plan on fiberglassing over the ash tray you'll need that rigid parts group stuff I mentioned in my bulletin so it bonds with the plastic and looks like it came that way.

I know how that was, In those days I had a C4 Corvette though. =P

Now, I have a paid off Elantra, With light exterior/interior mods and no income. When I find another job and get the money saved, Prepare for 2 weeks of Mod pics.

I'll order all my parts at once, and have them all delivered to my grandfathers shop. Once they all arrive, I will be there for a week or two installing all of it and taking tons of pictures.

1-2 weeks of pictures and a week of upload time due to Dial-up. LMAO!
