Accessories & Modifications The '77 Gremlin has a AMC inline six that has been fitted with an aluminum Clifford 4 barrel intake and 600 Holley carburetor. It also has twin headers with two collectors and dual exhausts. Sounds great if not just a little too loud, but no complaints about power. Decent mileage too.
My '69 Beetle has a 1600 stock engine with dual Webber one barrel carburetors. I've got a lot to learn about VWs yet, but after all I've heard about the Webber carburetors I have to say I am disappointed about how poorly they perform with a lot of trouble. This car has all new ball joints, link pins, bearings and brake parts. In fact, I switched it over to 4 wheel disc brakes. Drive great as you can imagine.
The '67 Beetle is just going back together after a body off restoration. I get held up a lot trying to wait on someone to help show me how to get some tricky reassembly done, especially on the doors and trim that goes on and in the doors. It is equipped with a stock 1600 one barrel carb. Runs nearly as good as the '69 Beetle for some reason, but less trouble. Go figure.
I also own a '69 Westfallia I've yet to get started on yet. I've put in a new engine, but haven't done any of the monster amount of body work yet. It has little dents all about, not bad, but the seals on all of the windows are shot and need replacing. I feel this may be difficult, but what the heck. What else am I going to do with my spare time? |
