About Me My name is Matt. I am 37 years old. I have been happily married to my lovely wife Jill for 15 years. We have 3 boys; Nicholas(13), Austin(12), & Kristopher(9). We live in Upstate, NY.
Some of my hobbies include listening and playing music. Especially anything piano or keyboard related, but I am by no means a 'professional musician'. Of course, cars are a huge passion of mine. I mostly love Lincolns. Other than my '66, I have owned two '79 Town Cars, a hi-performance '79 Mercury Cougar, & a '77 Thunderbird.
I enjoy car shows and cruise nights, and try to go to as many as possible. Sadly, here in NY we are slammed with about 4-5 months of harsh winter. So we try to get as much car fun in all summer long.

General Vehicle Comments I purchased my '66 Lincoln in August of 1992. It was listed 'for sale' in Hemmings Motor News. The car was located in Beverly, MA. I am the third owner of this vehicle.
It was bought 'new' in the mid sixties by a man named Russel J. Cadigan. Mr. Cadigan hardly used the Lincoln. I was told it was his 'Sunday Church Car'. Unfortunately, he passed away in the early 80's, and willed it to a young family friend, Joseph Trainor. (On a side note, Mr Cardigan had a vanity plate placed on the car upon delivery to Mr. Trainor which read; 'PAL JOEY'. After hearing that, I insisted that he keep the plate for sentimental value.) Mr Trainor kept the milage low, using it only for weddings and other special occasions. A doctor at Harvard Medical School, Mr. Trainor bought a new home in which the lengthy Continental would not fit. So he decided to sell it.
My father and I took the trip out to Beverly, MA to check it out. A few hours, and $4000 less in Dad's bank account, We headed back to New York, and I was behind the wheel of my very own 1966 Lincoln Continental! What a fantastic memory! :) |
