i figured out the rough acceleration ....one of the spark plug wires was a bit loose ...once i put in back on correctly and reset the ECU everything was back to mornal !! hows the turbo build coming along ??
 
 

yeah i kinda was figuring i would have to do that ...i kinda laid out what would go where and saw there wasnt much room...later this week im moving my battery to the trunk to free up more space for the intake ....oh i took the Lancer to the tracks ...the best time she ran was 17.25 down the qaurter mile....i am however having a problem with rough acceleration from between o to about 2500 ...it seems to spotter but only when the trans in engaged ...if i just rev it its smooth as can be ...any ideas what this may be ...oh and i think a weight came off one of the rims becuase i get the thump thump feel on on side of the car and it speed up as i do ...

i still need the actual turbo, the downpipe and a j pipe, and fuel injectors so another 600 bucks should do it. yeah get the apexi SAFC 2 its better than the one u sold me lol. im doing massive changes to my car its going to be torn up for a couple months haha

cool thanks for the intell on the rrm turbo ..however i still probably going for the garret turbo ...its a ball bearing turbo and suppose to spool up faster to minimize turbo lag..... cant wait to see your new front end project completed and old parts sold !!

hey buddy the black rims with the red striping would rock on your ride !!! ...yeah times are tough and getting mods has been slow.....i just put in a grounding kit for her....it came out nice and it helped a bit with the acceleration ..my idle is now down at 750 instead of 1000 and she runs just a smooth and saves on gas !!! .....haven t thought of an engine swap ...but imma really excited about the turbo ..its a garret t25bb ball bearing turbo ...its suppose to spool up really fast so there is minimum lag ....i should be able to get her up to about 200 hp with low boost settings to start off with !!! ...i hope i can sell the 8 soon ...i wantthe turbo !!! lol...

My dad checked it over with me, so I feel a bit more comfy about it....wasnt the EXACT car I would have gone with, but for the price and how well it was running....woulda been hard to pass up and I didnt think it would make it through the weekend...so i paid a hundred more than I planned on....oh well. Least the AC and radio work! woot woot! and tinted windows! no power anything other than brakes and steering...but what I need to roll the windows down for anyways???? LOL!

hey dude ..thanks for the kind words on the bulletin....yeah i am going to miss the rx8 but honestly even though its faster im having allot more fun working on the Lancer with my son ...we put a new wing on her and we added a grounding kit and some minor visual mods ....if i sell the rx8 i may have enough extra money for a turbo !! ...i hope i can sell her in a week or so !! ...how have u been ???

Well, sadly, i havent been able to officially pick it up yet! The person that was going to buy my celica backed out on me, so now i have to sell it before i can get it, but i already have someone who will so i will be able to get her soon ! i cant wait.

Well I don't have to worry about a clutch just yet since the transmission that came with the motor is an automatic. Lol. If I end up finding a manual transmission..I would upgrade the clutch. I put a Skunk2 cat back on my car today. =)
 
 

No the B18B1 is the non v-tec. The B18C1 and B18C5 are the v-tec 1.8 liters. It's actually fairly simple to turn the B1 into a v-tec though. All I have to do is get the head off a C1 or C5 and us that instead of the head that came with the motor. I'm sure there's some things I'd have to move around so that it'd fit, but I'm not sure what. I haven't looked into that hard. I'm not really interested in the v-tec that this point. Right now, my car has the D16 v-tec in it, and I love it...but I plan on putting a turbo on the B18 and I've heard from multiple people that v-tec and turbo don't get along real well and shit breaks a lot.

Yea...they're good motors. I hit a snag though. I put new pistons in and ran out of money. Lol. The blocks about done...but I still need to redo the entire head.
