About Me
not puttin much here.
im an auto mechanic in the making.
i love cars.

but personally i just chill school and work.
pretty easy going.
go with the flow.

i believe show cars are cool but not my thing. because personally allll that extra weight makes all that money you put in the engine useless. trust me a 1200 lbs 200 hp car will waste a 500 hp 10 ton car..to an extent but more power to ya if you like show over performance.

I don't mind what you drive really as long as you know what your talking about even if its a stock geo metro if you can take it all apart and put it back together and tell me about it were all good.

General Vehicle Comments
bought this car about 6 months ago.
garaged in the winter.
this is my first REAL car that i can work on.
ive had two VW jettas loved em both but way too expensive to me to keep up the payments on. didn't do much to them.

it'll be like a 300 hp quick little car. nothing too rediculous but a nice Daily Driver.

I've been going to some grad parties and stuff lately. I'm going to start doing some more detail on the teg and work more hours.
I leave to go down to Mankato August 19, so it would have to be before then. We should meet at a show or drag strip or something soon, and I could check out your sol and see what all needs to be done to it.

It might be a while before I start loading up on performance parts... I have some fluids to change and an oil leak to hunt down. The short throw shift kit is first on my list though

Yeah first thing I did was go to the TRD online catalog and found all the goodies I could. At this point it looks like I'm starting off with a short throw shift kit and a cf hood. On pretty much every car I've lifted the hood on none have made me say "well you can reduce enough weight here to perform better." The hood on this MR2 weighs more than all of the body panels on the Saturn combined, no joke. I put a 12 pound scale under it to see how much it weighed on the hinges, and it bottomed out the scale with me still supporting it. So yeah looks like we start with weight reduction

Sounds good. I'm looking at velocity stacks right now, and assuming I DON'T want to cut a big ass hole in my hood, what should I do? Unless they make some smaller ones for basic in-hood intakes I'm not seeing... where would I get one of those if they do exist?
1994 Saturn SL1
April 13th, 2010 02:37:17 PM
Is the Weapon-R SW intake worth the extra $80 over the ram intake? I just watched a dyno with the same intake you have and the guy gained about 5whp with an RSX. I'm planning on getting an SC2 this summer, so would it be worth the extra cash to get the SW intake or would there be virtually no difference between it and some generic ram?

You going to bring the Sol to any shows this summer? It'd be nice to see it and maybe make a plan for the body work and stuff. Might hopefully be able to work out something.

Hows the weather now bro!? We've got a shit ton of snow...AGAIN! LOL!

February 10th, 2010 06:26:45 PM
Eh, Life here is slow. Lol. Especially with level 3 snow advisories every day this week. We've got damn near 3 feet now. LOL! I've had to keep my snow shovel handy because nobody plows around here...They buy snow blowers...And I have a gravel driveway. So, I end up shoveling my way out, Daily. LOL! I live on a road with 3 steep "hills" before you reach a flat...So, I haven't been out much, And the last time I was a 4x4 dodge had to push me up the hills...

Posted a new blog on headlight painting or turn signal removing/tinting. Check it out if you want. Been busy writing up plenty useful blogs for everyone to enjoy. I read some of AngelFactory's and it gave me the idea to post some things most people don't think about doing...Like soldering in clear LED's into the window switches, etc. Instead of having the original yellow or green look...You get a bright, clean white.

Thanks for the blog comment. Kinda bummed more don't comment since they all want to know how to do it but afraid to try. I was pretty detailed with the steps on all but the sub enclosure one so no reason someone couldn't tackle a project of their own off the info I've given.

December 14th, 2009 12:42:17 PM
Yeah, About that. LOL! It's cold here, Just no snow, Really. We've probably had about 2 inches so far this winter, And the rest has been rain or sleet...Frozen to the road, And wonderful to drive on. Traffic delays up to 5 hours every morning...You know...The good stuff.

I've applied at a "Window cleaning" place, Pretty decent money, Even though I'm freaked out about heights. Wendy's, First Class Customs, Tractor Supply Co., Advanced Auto Parts...Yeah, The list goes on and on. LOL

I can't wait for Christmas to be over with though, Just means my 20th birthday is closer...July 10th...Woohoo........LOL!

Ahhh, The infamous clicking. Lol. Story of my life. Anyway, Hows things man? Ready for Christmas? I'm gonna be putting in some wrench time (Hopefully) while everyone is opening presents and eating Christmas dinner. LOL If not, I'll probably be working my ass off to find another job.

The bearings in mine I replaced with the axel were all broken apart and wore down to nothing, I have no clue how they still functioned at all. I'll post pics of that tomorrow. I just posted new pics with the new rims.

I think the GR-2's are suppose to ride similar to stock but with less body roll and better handling. I'll see once I get and install them. I could just swap the AGX's out of my Sol, lol, just for the winter.
1995 Honda Del Sol
October 27th, 2009 08:57:52 PM
I went with the GR-2 shocks, the AGX are adjustable and better if you are lowering. I debated between them for awhile, but there wasn't enough advantages to getting AGX to make up the price difference. If I decide to keep it for awhile, I might lower it some and put in nice coilovers all around. I want to drive it so bad, but waiting on parts to get here and I really shouldn't drive it with a broken shock.

I'm not ready for POTD yet, I need more photos, lol.
It runs really good, just drives bad, but should be all fixed by the end of the week, just waiting on my shocks right now. I'm glad it hasn't been snowing lately, so I've been able to drive my Sol until the GSR is drivable. I guess I did drive it over 40 miles to get it home, don't know how lol.

How's your Sol running?

I got the headers on today and will do the rest of the exhaust tomorrow. I am eager to start painting too. Depending on the weather might start that Friday. The tires are really cracked and dry rotten so would be nice to get rims and tires ordered so I can do more than drive it around the block.

My 16's don't rub at all, not even when the suspension bottoms out, which is surprising. 15's would be good, 16's are getting a little big for a del Sol, and 17's are way overkill.

I got bored and just figured out that every autologger from MN and Iowa could meet up on a giant bridge in La Crosse, WI. Problem is, the closest person is 3 hours away and the farthest person is 5 hours away. So it wouldn't be a short trip for anyone but it's a town right on the Mississippi so there would be some kick-ass photo opportunities. I'm gonna keep an eye out for shows there and maybe we can all meet up sometime this summer.
